“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” — Dr. Brené Brown
I believe therapy should be a warm, supportive, and compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. Whether you’re an anxious overthinker, navigating a major life transition, feeling overwhelmed by relationships, or trying to make sense of your place in the world, you don’t have to figure everything out alone. My goal is to meet you where you are while creating a grounded and collaborative environment where we can explore what you’re experiencing and work toward meaningful, achievable change.
Because no two people are the same, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I work from a person-centered lens and draw from motivational interviewing and psychodynamic approaches to better understand what’s happening in your life, what you want to work toward, and why certain patterns or thought processes may be showing up. From there, I incorporate approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring our work to what will be most helpful for you.
A central part of my approach is helping clients build resilience and expand their ability to navigate difficult emotions and experiences. Together, we’ll work on regulating tough emotions, becoming more comfortable with discomfort, and understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. I also incorporate mindfulness, grounding exercises, and a strengths-based perspective to help you feel safe and validated while developing skills you can carry with you outside the therapy room. I’ll support you with compassion while also gently challenging self-doubt and harsh self-criticism when they get in the way of moving forward.
I especially enjoy working with teens, young adults, and parents as they navigate the uncertainty and change that can come with different stages of life. Finding your place in the world, making confident decisions, developing healthier habits, and managing relationships can sometimes feel overwhelming. I view therapy as a partnership where we can make sense of what’s happening, recognize the strengths you already have, and build greater confidence in your ability to handle what comes next.
Outside of the therapy room, I like finding creative and adventurous ways to practice some of the same lessons I value in therapy. I once considered myself a “professional quitter,” but these days, rock climbing helps me build resilience, while pottery reminds me to enjoy the process and accept imperfection. I also enjoy painting, hiking, and exploring small towns—especially when there’s a farmers market or a good place to wander along the way.
