In my role as a therapist, I center the work on your unique narrative—not just your symptoms. Too often, society positions the individual as the problem, overlooking the complex web of culture, family, community, media, and other external systems that profoundly shape our experiences. I believe it’s within the delicate interplay between your inner world and the systems surrounding you that a fuller understanding—and lasting change—emerges.

I work with individuals, couples, and families, using family therapy not only as a framework but also as a powerful tool to understand relational dynamics. My approach integrates systemic and psychodynamic perspectives, exploring how past experiences, intergenerational patterns, and attachment influence present-day relationships and behaviors. Whether in individual or relational work, I bring deep curiosity, compassion, and respect for the complexity of your story.

Similarly, I hold close Viktor Frankl’s insight: “Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” In therapy, I aim to help you recognize and reclaim that space—to reflect, choose, and grow in alignment with your values and hopes.

Ultimately, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of healing. My commitment is to create a space of warmth, safety, and acceptance where we can uncover the deeper meaning within your experiences, foster insight, and support you in forging a more connected and fulfilling life.

When I emailed Wellness Counseling of Bergen I got an answer right away, the same day. Jennifer, the manager is amazing helping us to get an appointment the same week, and helping with everything related to insurance payments and claims. We are so thankful, blessed and fortunate to have them on our side.

I highly recommend Wellness Counseling! Dr. Jen is a warm, kind-hearted, and very sincere therapist. When walking into her office, she greets you and is extremely welcoming. Her genuine care for her patients helps us feel at ease and I always feel relieved after our session. She has two office locations with several therapists that are highly qualified and can assist you with a multitude of therapy work as well, if she is not available. 5 stars for Dr. Jen and her team!!!

I spent a year working with Ali Whitney, it was a year well spent and I accomplished the goals Ali and I set throughout the year. Ali’s approach allowed me to work through feelings, emotions, and personal limitations and allowed me to overcome them in my own time, with her guidance and expertise. The new space is welcoming and relaxing and after each session I left feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. Thank you so much!
