In my role as a therapist, I place a primary focus on the individual’s unique narrative, rather than their symptoms. Our society often looks at the individual as the problem, overlooking the intricate interplay of culture, systems (family, community, media, society, etc.), stressors, and external influences that are essential for a comprehensive understanding of a person and the challenges they face. It’s this delicate balance between an individual’s personality and these external factors that provides a complete picture for understanding and working with you.

I believe in Carl Jung’s profound words: “In all chaos, there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.” This belief forms the core of my therapeutic approach. I seek to uncover the hidden order within the chaos that life may present, helping you reveal the deeper meaning and purpose within.

My experience spans working with individuals, families, and couples on a diverse range of issues, and there is nothing more fulfilling than witnessing my clients progress towards their personal goals. I firmly believe that the therapeutic relationship is the key to success in therapy, and I am committed to creating an environment of warmth and acceptance for each person I encounter.

As we work together, our shared journey will be dedicated to unveiling the unique story that defines you, recognizing the influences and systems at play, and forging a path towards a more meaningful and enriching life.

“Beyond the therapy room: I became a mom at the end of 2022. This profound identity shift has made me examine the overlooked role of infancy in our long term mental health and the way in which our culture contributes to the challenges that new parents face, thus fueling my passion to support this population!”

Trusted by our clients

When I emailed Wellness Counseling of Bergen I got an answer right away, the same day. Jennifer, the manager is amazing helping us to get an appointment the same week, and helping with everything related to insurance payments and claims. We are so thankful, blessed and fortunate to have them on our side.

I highly recommend Wellness Counseling! Dr. Jen is a warm, kind-hearted, and very sincere therapist. When walking into her office, she greets you and is extremely welcoming. Her genuine care for her patients helps us feel at ease and I always feel relieved after our session. She has two office locations with several therapists that are highly qualified and can assist you with a multitude of therapy work as well, if she is not available. 5 stars for Dr. Jen and her team!!!

I spent a year working with Ali Whitney, it was a year well spent and I accomplished the goals Ali and I set throughout the year. Ali’s approach allowed me to work through feelings, emotions, and personal limitations and allowed me to overcome them in my own time, with her guidance and expertise. The new space is welcoming and relaxing and after each session I left feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. Thank you so much!
